Dorothy May (Reed) O'Neal

Dorothy May O'Neal, 91, of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at the Villas of Jackson.

Dorothy was born January 15, 1932, in Tunica, Louisiana, daughter of the late Charles and Ellade Ervin Reed. She first married Joel L. Jones, in 1949. She then married Joe M. O'Neal on September 23, 1989, in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death June 25, 2022.

Dorothy was born in Louisiana and moved to Cape Girardeau as a baby. She attended Cape Central High School. She worked at Florsheim Shoe Company and later for Proctor & Gamble, retiring in 1994.

Loving survivors include three children, David (Cheryl) Jones of O'Fallon, MO, Donald (Debbie) Jones of Oak Ridge, and Patricia (Stephen) Estes of Jackson; three sisters, Thelma Brothers, Shirley Vandiver, and Doris Cotner; and a brother, Charles "Bud" Reed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and a brother.

Inurnment will be held at a later date.
