Dorothy E. (Scranton) Williams

Dorothy E. Williams, 92, of Whitewater passed away Friday, Jan. 13, 2023 at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. Dorothy was born Mar. 25, 1930 in Olney, IL to the late Wesley and Erma Gardner Scranton. She and Hansel Willie Williams were married July 11, 1947 in Lawrenceville, Illinois.  He preceded her in death on February 9, 2001. Dorothy enjoyed being out in nature and was a cat lover. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great and great great-grandmother. Survivors include five sons; Barry Williams of Kokomo, Indiana, Terry (Betty) Williams of Bethany, Illinois. Bruce Williams of Whitewater, Missouri, Timothy (Becky) Williams of Burfordville, Missouri, and David (Lupe) Williams of Victor, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Cunningham, and two brothers, Russell and Kenneth Scranton. Visitation is from 10 a.m. to service time, Thursday, January 19, 2023, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
