Dwayne Lee Maeltzer, 90, of Geneseo, Illinois and Cape Girardeau, Missouri, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2024, at his Cape Girardeau home. Dwayne was born September 17, 1933, in Geneseo, Illinois, to Vernon and Helen Vianne Maeltzer.  He was a 1951 graduate of Geneseo High School.  He and Mary Ann Anderson were married September 24, 1955, in Geneseo. Dwayne's memberships in Geneseo included Grace United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge, and the Fraternal Order of Moose.  He worked with his father in the family business, Maeltzer’s Frame and Axle, and later worked at Crowe Ford Sales in Geneseo and John Deere Parts Depot in Milan, Illinois. Loving survivors include his wife of 68 years, Mary Ann (Anderson) Maeltzer of Cape Girardeau; a son, Scott (Aileen) Maeltzer of Moncks Corner, South Carolina; a daughter, Tammy (Don) Frazier of Jackson, Missouri; granddaughters, Tyra (Gregory) Hunt of Auburndale, Florida, Amber Riggs of Cape Girardeau; grandsons, Corey Maeltzer of Simpsonville, South Carolina, Michael (Olivia) Maeltzer of Virginia; and great-grandchildren, Zana Riggs of Jackson, Missouri, and Fisher Hunt of Auburndale, Florida. Dwayne was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Helen Maeltzer. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time, Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Vandemore Funeral Home in Geneseo.  The Rev.Terry Lesterfield , will conduct a memorial service at 11 a.m., at the funeral home.  Inurnment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Geneseo.  Guests are then invited to a luncheon at 1 p.m., at Grace United Methodist Church in Geneseo.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Kidney Foundation are appreciated.

Cremation arrangements by McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, Missouri.
