Dylan Lee Abbott, 32, of Sedgewickville, Missouri, passed away Monday, November 21, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family, at his home.

He was born June 8, 1990, in Cape Girardeau, to Harry Lee and Jacqueline “Jackie” Pohlmann Abbott.  He and Lindsey Mayfield were married September 21, 2013, at Little Whitewater Baptist Church in Patton, Missouri.  Two children were born to their union, Caroline and Carter.

Dylan was a 2008 graduate of Oak Ridge High School.  He loved his family, and his children were his world.  He never met a stranger and always left an impression on everyone he met.  He enjoyed deer and rabbit hunting, playing video games, playing basketball, watching sports, wrestling, and true crime shows, and spending time with his family.

Loving survivors include his wife of 9 years, Lindsey Abbott and children, Caroline and Carter of Sedgewickville; his mother, Jacqueline Abbott of Oak Ridge; a brother, Christian “Chris” (Chelsea) Abbott of Old Appleton; his father-in-law, Randy (Jan) Mayfield of Sedgewickville; two brothers-in-law, Michael “Mike” (Alicia) Vandeven of Leopold and Ethan (Amber) Mayfield of Sedgewickville; nieces and nephews, Kensley, Brantley, and Journey Abbott and Jocelyn, Hunter and Laramie Vandeven.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Abbott; his mother-in-law, Carol Mayfield; his grandparents; and a paternal uncle, Terry Abbott.

Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m., Friday, November 25, 2022, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, and from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Little Whitewater Baptist Church in Patton.

The Rev. Jim Collins will conduct the funeral service at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 26, 2022, at the church.  Interment will follow at Garden of Memories near Sedgewickville.

Memorials to the family are appreciated and will be used to assist with the children’s education.
