Edward J. “Bud” Fellows, 95, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2026, in Jackson, at the home of his son.

He was born January 3, 1931, in St. Louis, to John E. and Mary E. Statler Fellows, and his home church was the Whitewater Presbyterian Church near Lixville. He was a 1948 graduate of Beaumont High School in St. Louis. He then honorably served four years in the U.S. Navy.

Bud and Ruby “Maxine” Loberg were married July 3, 1954, in Sedgewickville. Four children were born to their union, Terri, Connie, Michael, and Steve. Together, they were members of the Evangelical Church in Cape Girardeau; Emanuel United Church of Christ in Jackson, and most recently St. John’s United Church of Christ in Fruitland. They had been married over 65 years when Maxine passed away March 21, 2020.

Bud worked at McDonnell Douglas; owned and operated a General Store in Lixville; Dow Chemical; Robert Price Realty; and then drove for Genesis Transportation; and Straightway Farm Service.

He was a member of the American Legion in Perryville. He enjoyed fishing, boating, woodworking, St. Louis Cardinals baseball, and above all, spending time with his family.

To cherish his memory, he leaves three children, Terri (late Dan) Penrod of Cape Girardeau, Connie Schlimme of Cape Girardeau, and Steve (Amy) Fellows of Jackson; six grandchildren, Daniel Schlimme, Luke Schlimme, Whitney (Clayton) Godwin, Kaleb (Destiny) Fellows, Kelsey (Jason) Berkbuegler, and Kia (Colten) Seyer; and four great-grandchildren, Rowan and Camden Berkbuegler, and Collins and Baker Godwin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, an infant son, Michael Fellows: son-in-law, Dan Penrod; a sister, Virginia Shrum, and his parents.

Visitation is from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, July 24, 2026, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. Dr. Rodney Pensel will conduct the funeral service at 1 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

If considering a memorial contribution, the family suggests St. John’s United Church of Christ.
