Elizabeth J. Turner, 94, of Cape Girardeau, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2021 at her home in Cape Girardeau.

Elizabeth was born May 13, 1926,  in Cape Girardeau to the late Clarence and Mamie Hunt Berry. She was the fifth of five children. She and Burnell Turner were married April 29, 1950, in Paragould, Arkansas. He passed away March 12, 2014. Elizabeth grew up in Cape Girardeau, graduating from Cape Central High School. Burnell farmed in the Oak Ridge area, while Elizabeth maintained the home and helped out on the farm.

Loving survivors include a son Michael (Beverly) Turner of Jackson, Minnesota, two daughters, Cynthia Modde and friend Jerry Talley of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Lisa Propst of Cape Girardeau; eight grandchildren, Christopher (Amanda) Turner, Vincent (Galidee) Turner, Jax Turner, Jason Modde, Cameron (Shea Wolfenkoehler) Propst, Conner Propst, Tracie Beckmann, and Keith Lipps, .

Also surviving are 11 great-grandchildren, Kelina, Miya, Sage and Xylia Turner; Austin, Michaela, Isabella, Sofia and Veronica Turner; Elizabeth (fiancé, Alex Reddmann) Modde and Jacob Modde; and two great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by her husband of 63 years, Burnell Turner, a son, Richard L. Lipps, and her parents. She was also preceded by two brothers Russell C. Berry and Paul W. Berry and two sisters Julia "Charlotte" Heise and Mildred Beatrice Probst.

A public graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson, with Rev. Debra Tracy officiating and Lisa Reitzel as soloist.
