Ella Jo Hanna Collier, 67 of Jackson passed away at home, Wednesday, August 20, 2025, surrounded by her family.
She was born on October 9, 1957 in Cape Girardeau the daughter of Howard E. and Marian M. Nothdurft Scholl. Ella and Bruce D. Collier were married on December 17, 1977 at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.
Ella attended Trinity Lutheran elementary school in Cape Girardeau and graduated from Cape Central High School.
She also studied at Southeast Missouri State University. Her work experience includes positions at Superior Electric, Georgia Pacific, DNK Healthcare Resources, and 23 years as Kitchen Manager for St. Paul Lutheran School.
Ella was a woman of faith and deeply committed to her family. For several years, Ella organized meals for the Jackson football team. She was a certified scorekeeper for multiple sports. Ella had a passion in sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals, and enjoyed crafting and decorating.
Loving survivors include her husband of 47 years, Bruce Collier; three children, Christine M. Collier of Jackson, Adam E. Collier of Millersville, and Alex M. Collier of Jackson; three grandchildren, Ashlynn Collier, Zane Lawrence-Collier and Max Lawrence-Collier; and a sister, Susie (Rick) Brunke of Fruitland; a nephew, Ben Johnson; two nieces, Kelli (Brett) Schnurbusch and Hannah (Zack) Meyer and angel dog, Toby.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time on Friday, August 22, 2025, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Chris Collier will officiate the funeral service at 12 p.m., Friday, August 22, 2025, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
In lieu flowers the family would like contributions made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The family extends their sincere appreciation to Dr. David Mutch for his dedicated and compassionate care throughout the years.
