Eugene Kemper

Eugene "Gene" Kemper, 63, of Altenburg passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.

Gene was born August 24, 1951 in St. Louis, MO, the son of James R. and Francis McConell Kemper. He and Diana Thiess were married April 4, 1974 in Santa Barbara, CA.

Gene worked as a manager at Schnucks for 25 years in the produce department. He loved meeting people and seeing them around town. He owned and operated It Werks a home construction company for many years. He would take his son Gavin with him on jobs to teach him. He did this to the point of helping Gavin own his own business. Through hard work and determination Gene created a family farm for the entire family. He accomplished in one life what generations before him had been trying. Gene lives on in our hearts and minds and will never be forgotten

Loving survivors include his wife Diana of 41 years, a son Gavin Kemper and fiancé Stefanie Edmonds, a granddaughter Rylie Kemper and his mother-in-law and step-mother Kathryn Kemper. All services will be private.
