Fern Mildred Hoffman

Fern Mildred Hoffman, 94, of Jackson, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, MO. She was born on September 11, 1931, in New Wells, the daughter of the late Albert E. and Alma (Koch) Zwosta. On April 26, 1953, she married the late Milton Harold Hoffman.

Fern was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and belonged to Ladies Aid and quilting organizations. She worked at the former Lee Rowan and retired from St. Francis Medical Center.

Her loving survivors are her sons, Larry Hoffman and Mark (Dawn) Hoffman of Jackson; and grandchildren, Matthew Hoffman of Pensacola, FL, and Michelle Hoffman of Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Tammy Hoffman; step-granddaughter, Brittney Seabaugh; Sister, Dorothy (Marvin) Ludwig; and a brother, Norman (Myrtha) Zwosta.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 21, 2026, 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Jackson, MO, with the funeral service following at 11:30 a.m. officiated by Pastor Joshua Schmidt. Burial will be at Russell Heights Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions can be made to St Paul Lutheran Church, St. Paul Lutheran School, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
