Gary Richard Hedrick, 84, passed away June 21st, 2026, at his home while surrounded by his family in Jackson, Missouri.

He was born on February 6th, 1942, in St. Louis, Missouri, son of Calvin and Dorothy (Broadwater) Hedrick.

He graduated from Valley Park Highschool and went on to work as a lab technician for a chemical plant. On July 14th, 1962; Gary married his beloved wife, Joyce A. (Fisher) Hedrick in Valley Park, Missouri. Gary and Joyce raised three children; Lisa (Terry) Halker, Jeffery Hedrick, and Leslie Hendrix.

There were many things that Gary enjoyed in life such as; golfing, and NASCAR. He also had a talent for woodworking and a passion for photography. Known as a ‘Hag fan’, country music was considered his favorite genre! Between Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings, you couldn’t go wrong in his book. Most of all, Gary cherished his time with family, especially his many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by a son; Jeffery Scott Hedrick.

Loving survivors include his wife; Joyce A. Hedrick, two daughters; Lisa (Terry) Halker of Belle, Missouri, and Leslie Hendrix of Jackson, Missouri, along with seven grandchildren; Jessica (Kyle) Mathis, Amanda (Mark) Wombacher, Leigh ’Ann (Zach) Payne, Brittany (Chris) Murray, Alison (Michael) Aselson, Brooke Hendrix, and Brandon Hendrix, and sixteen great grandchildren; Kinnley, Carson, Nora, Zoie, Sadie, Vera, Calvin, Maci, Sloane, McKenna, Fisher, Lincoln, Elliot, M.J., Owen, and Savannah.

A celebration of life will be held on August the 2nd, 2026 at the Valley Park Lion's Club at noon.
