Geneva M. Ottinger, 94, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Sikeston, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She had lived at Saxony Village for several years. Geneva was born July 3, 1931 in Steele to John Isaac and Ola Cunningham.
She and Ralph Ottinger were married Feb. 3, 1951, in Piggot Arkansas.
Geneva worked as a secretary for McKnight and Keaton Wholesale Grocers and later as a librarian at the Sikeston Public Library.
Loving survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Diane Ottinger of Sikeston, and sister-in-law, Beatrice Cunningham of Indianapolis, as well as a niece and several nephews.
In addition to her parents Geneva was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Ottinger; two sisters, Kathleen Beck and Naomi Long; and two brothers, Kenneth Cunningham and Gerald Cunningham.
A private family memorial service will take place at a later date.
McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau is in charge of cremation. John German Funeral Home in Hayti will be in charge of interment.
