Georgia Lee (Birk) Smith

Georgia L. Smith, 99, of Jackson, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Cedar Hurst Nursing Home in Columbia, MO.

Georgia was born July 13, 1923, in Tilsit, daughter of the late Joseph and Lucy Mae (Allen) Birk. She and James Smith were married May 25, 1946, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson. He preceded her in death September 20, 2003.

Loving survivors include two sons, Gary Smith and David Smith; four grandchildren, Scott Smith, Rick Smith, Brandi Lynn Smith and Robert Smith; and seven great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by three siblings, Joann Grebe, Allen Birk and Katherine Vicent; and a sister-in-law, Marie Birk.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 2, 2023, from Noon until 1:30pm at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at 1:30 at the funeral home with Rev. Joshua Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
