Gerald Perkins, 81, of Jackson went to his Heavenly home, Monday, July 18, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born October 2, 1940, to Denver and Ina (Samples) Perkins in Cape Girardeau. He and Judith Coleson were married October 7, 1961, at Assembly of God Church in Olive Branch, IL.
Gerald attended First Assembly of God in Scott City.
Gerald worked for Proctor and Gamble for 18 years until he retired. He had a special talent for playing string instruments, the fiddle, mandolin, banjo, and guitar, if it had strings, he could play it. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors. He loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his loving wife of 60 years, Gerald is survived by three children, Kim Perkins of Gordonville, Cheryl (Hap) McLaughlin of Gatlinburg, TN, and Bryan (Becky) Perkins of Stafford, MO; a brother, Bobby (Linda) Perkins of Fruitland; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Gerald is preceded by his parents; a granddaughter, Melissa Luttrell; and two sisters.
Memorial visitation will be Saturday, August 13, 2022, from 9 am until service time at First Assembly of God Church in Scott City, Missouri.
Memorial service will follow at the church, at 11 am, with the Pastor Randy Morse officiating.
