Geraldine "Geri" (Boren) Leimbach

Geraldine Aline "Geri" Leimbach, age 87, of Jackson passed away Thursday, December 24, 2020 at her home surrounded by family.

She was born February 7, 1933 at New Wells, Missouri the daughter of Clarence H. and Gusta Pfeiffer Boren.

She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells. She later moved to Pocahontas and married Eugene “Gene” Leimbach on July 6, 1952 at Zion Lutheran Church. Gene preceded her in death October 21, 2005.

In 1961 Geri became a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson, where she taught Sunday school for many years, was active in the Concordia Guild and other activities of the church.

Geri worked for Cape Girardeau County Abstract and Title Company from 1951 until her retirement in 2002, except for eight years she was employed as a stay at home mom by Norma Jones, a court reporter.

She is survived by a son Mark and wife (Leslie) Leimbach of Jackson; a daughter, Mary and husband (Steve) Derringer of LaBelle, Florida; three grandchildren, Lauren and husband (Robert) Erwin of St. Charles, Missouri; Brett and wife (Carrie) Leimbach of Jackson; and Kylie Leimbach of St. Louis; three great grandchildren, Caleb Erwin, Spencer Leimbach, and Luke Leimbach.

Also surviving are two brothers, Allen (Mary Ann) Boren and Roy (Jane) Boren; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews living throughout the country.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 9-11 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Funeral service will be Tuesday at 11 am with Rev. Joshua Schmidt officiating.

Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Radio Broadcast or to St. Paul Lutheran School.

Face mask are required for the visitation and funeral. Please also observe social distancing guidelines due to the compromised health of some family members.
