Geraldine Brotherton

February 26, 1925 — December 22, 2016

Geraldine E. Brotherton, age 91, of Jackson passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Jackson Manor Nursing Home.

She was born February 26, 1925, in Sedgewickville, daughter of Aaron and Bertha (Seabaugh) Seabaugh. She and Cecil Brotherton were married May 11, 1946 in Jackson. They had been married 62 years when Cecil passed away October 28, 2008.

Geraldine worked at the former shoe factory in Jackson. She was a long-time member of New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson, and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Jackson. She was a homemaker and especially enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening,

Loving survivors include three children, Wayne (Lesa) Brotherton of Millersville, Missouri, Shiela (Jerry) Tuschhoff of Cape Girardeau and Sherri (Randy) Statler of Oak Ridge, Missouri; five grandchildren: Todd (Viktoriia) Brotherton and children Addylynn and Oleksander of Jackson; Jamie Brotherton and fiance Kyle of Shelbyville, Tennessee; Lucas Tuschhoff of Cape Girardeau; Dusty Statler of Chicago; Rusty (Paige) Statler and children Bella and Carter of Oak Ridge; and a sister-in-law, Helen Cook of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, six brothers, and three sisters.

The visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday, December 26, 2016 at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the funeral home with the Rev. Jimmie Corbin officiating.

Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

The family suggests that memorials take the form of contributions to New McKendree United Methodist Church or Jackson Manor with a memo for the Activities Fund.
