GLADYS F. VOTTA, 93, formerly of North Providence, Rhode Island, passed away Monday, November 27, 2017, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
She was born April 18, 1924, in Providence, Rhode Island, to Frances Mitchell and Gladys Elizabeth Stafford Gaynor. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Patrick Catholich Church in Providence, and was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School in Providence. She was a longtime member of Mary, Mother of Mankind Catholic Church in North Providence. Gladys and Cosmo A. Votta had been married 36 years when he passed away in 1980. Three sons were born to their union.
Gladys was a dedicated professional, working 20 years at the Jewish Home for the Aged in Providence, retiring in 1987. Throughout her entire life, her sole hobby was her family. Gladys is affectionately remembered as a true lady.
Loving survivors include two sons, Donald E. (Mary K.) Votta of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Kenneth A. Votta of Providence; a sister, Marjorie Righie of Warwick, Rhode Island; ten grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard D. Votta; and five siblings, Frances "Bud" Gaynor, Harold E. "Earl" Gaynor, Janet Flynn, Marilyn Campanelli, and Virginia Gaynor.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian burial at Mary Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth Street, N Providence, RI 02911, on Monday, December 4, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. Inurnment will follow at St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston, Rhode Island. Arrangements in Rhode Island by Quinn Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mary Mother of Mankind Catholic Church, N Providence, RI.
Cremation accorded by McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, Missouri.
