It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Glenda Carol Heiden, a remarkable soul whose kindness, selflessness, and unwavering love touched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. On Thursday, September 21, 2023, Glenda left this world peacefully with her two daughters holding her hands, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and devotion that will forever be remembered. Born on July 31, 1953, to James Lee Fraze and Ava Louise McManus Fraze in Kennett, MO. On March 11, 1972, she was united in marriage to James David Heiden in Hunter, MO. They celebrated 34 years of marriage before he passed away in 2006. Glenda graduated Salutatorian from Ellsinore High School in 1971 and then attended Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff. For over 40 years, she was a legal assistant in Cape Girardeau. She was a master speller, cross-stitcher, seamstress, embroidery machine operator, and enjoyed making homemade gifts for others. Glenda's life was defined by her role as a loving wife and devoted mother. As a mother, Glenda was an inspiration to her two daughters, Michelle "Misti" (Eddie) Laws and Jaime (Shawn) Hayes. She exemplified the values of kindness, honesty, generosity and self-reliance. One of Glenda's greatest joys was her role as Grandma! She was a loving grandmother, cherishing her eight grandchildren: Austin, Taylor (her birthday twin), Autumn, Braxton, Trinity, Alex, Ava, and Abi and embracing many others, as if they were her own. In later years, Glenda (aka "Margret") became a great-grandmother, to a new generation that she welcomed with open arms and boundless love. Honey May and Margret formed a special bond and always brought a smile to each other's faces. Her siblings include: (the late) Richard Fraze of Southern IL and Janet Boyer, Judy Friedline, Marsha Julian and Ron Reynolds, all of Ellsinore, MO. Glenda Heiden's legacy is not just one of familial love, but of an extraordinary spirit that touched countless lives. She embodied kindness, selflessness, and fairness, always ready to extend a helping hand to anyone, anywhere, at any time. And her patience was an enduring testament to her exceptional character. As we say our final goodbyes, let us remember the beautiful soul that was Glenda Carol Heiden and carry her love and warmth forward in our own lives. She may be gone from our sight, but her spirit will live on in our hearts, reminding us that she loves us to the end of the numbers. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 25th, at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, MO. Visitation 4-6pm, Service at 6pm. May Glenda's soul rest in eternal peace, and may her memory continue to shine brightly in all of our lives.
