Glenn Ellis Thompson, 61 of Oak Ridge passed away Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Mercy Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
He was born on May 24, 1964, in Oak Ridge, to Nelson Herman and Lois Evelyn Barks Thompson.
Glen was raised on the family farm in Oak Ridge. After graduating High School in Oak Ridge, Glenn continued Farming and taking care of the farm.
Loving survivors include two half-sisters: Jeanne (Jim) Hardy and Donna (Jerry) Elder; aunt and uncles: Ray (the late Emma) Cannon, Dale (Betty), and Linda (the late Glen) Thompson.
Also surviving are Glenn’s cousins: Brad (Paula) Thompson, Donna Nitsch, Kevin (Brenda) Nitsch, Darla (Mark) Hemmann, Brian (Amy) Thompson, Brenda (Aaron) Gleason, Jody Thompson, James (Alissa) Thompson, and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents: Virgil and Ada Ruesler Thompson and step-grandma: Lela Thompson; two half-brothers: Lonnie (Susan) and Ronnie (Gina) Townsend, and aunt and uncle Gladys (Bob) Nitsch.
The visitation will be from 10am to 11am on Tuesday March 31, 2026, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. Charley Mangels will conduct a graveside service at 11:30 at Goshen Cemetery in Oak Ridge where Glenn will be laid to rest.
The family suggests that contributions be made to Goshen Cemetery or Zion United Methodist Church in Old Appleton, Mo.
