Harriet Joann Puchbauer

Harriet Joann Puchbauer, 85, of Jackson, passed away Friday, February 23, 2024, at the Villas of Jackson.

She was born May 9, 1938, in Jackson, to Harry and June McDowell.

Harriet was a 1956 graduate of Jackson High School. She and Bobby G. "Bob" Puchbauer were married June 29, 1956, at New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson.

Harriet worked as a bookkeeper for Dr. Jaeger, the Fruitland Livestock Auction Barn, McDowell Service Station and Fruitland Dressed Meats.

She and Bob attended the Cape County Cowboy Church near Oak Ridge.

Harriet grew beautiful red geraniums, and liked decorating, and crafting. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, and talking to her friends.

Loving survivors include her husband of 67 years, Bob Puchbauer of Jackson; four children: Rob (Linda) Puchbauer of Jackson; Becky (Ed) Sewing of St. Louis; Robin (Rick) Brugger of Jackson; and Nancy Thompson of Jackson; grandchildren: Kelli (David) Shuffit; Tyler (Stacy) Puchbauer; Chris (Lacey) Sewing; Kara (Eddie) Wilson; Kyle Brugger; Jamie (TJ) Findeiss; Kaleigh Greer (Logan Hennecke) and Elisha Thompson; great-grandchildren: Samantha and Riley Puchbauer; Joel Brugger; Nora Findeiss; Emery and Louis Wilson; Flynn Sewing; Austen Greer; Leighton Hennecke; Makenzie Shuffit; and siblings, Mac, Richard, Tom, and Tim McDowell, Karen Sander and Susan LaPierre.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday, February 26, 2024, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. The funeral will be at 12 p.m., Monday, February 26, with Rev. Jim Matthews officiating, assisted by Dr. Rodney Pensel.
