Imogene M. Seabaugh

Imogene M. Seabaugh, 93, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Jackson passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She had been a resident at Saxony Village for ten years.

She was born August 28, 1922, in Sedgewickville,, Missouri, daughter of William F. and Hannah Friese Seabaugh. She and Buford H. Seabaugh were married September 28, 1940 in Cape Girardeau. They were married 72 years when he passed away on August 14, 2013.

Imogene was baptized and confirmed at Sedgewickville Lutheran Church. She joined Sargent's Chapel Lutheran Church near Sedgewickville where she was a long-time member and held various positions, including church secretary/treasurer and Sunday school teacher. She and Buford resided on the Seabaugh Century Farm for many years. In 1994 they moved to Jackson where they became members of First Presbyterian Church. Imogene was a former community 4-H leader for years.

Loving survivors include a son, John H. Seabaugh (the late Zee Koch) of St. Louis; a granddaughter, Tami McGraw of Fort Madison, Iowa; a great-granddaughter, Jozie (Jake) Mader of Montana; and two great-great-grandchildren, Anna and Alan Mader; several nieces and nephews and life-long friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Ramona and Loy McGraw, a grandson, Thomas McGraw, three brothers and three sisters

The visitation will be from noon until time of service on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Grant Gillard officiating.

Interment will be in Sargent's Chapel Cemetery.

The family suggests that contributions be made to Sargent's Chapel Cemetery or the First Presbyterian Church in Jackson.
