James “Jim” Richard Timberlake, 72, of Gordonville, passed away Monday, December 7, 2020 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born March 19, 1948, in Cape Girardeau, son of James Henry and Virginia “Billie” Bowman Timberlake. He and Ruth Walter were married April 9, 1977 in Tilsit. She survives.
Jim graduated from high school in New York and attended Farmingdale University also in New York. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Gordonville. On September 9, 1972 Jim enlisted in the Navy and was honorably discharged on October 5, 1973. He worked at Siemer’s Appliance and Service; in the plastic parts, welding, and audio departments at NLC Lenco, and cofounded Link Electronics of Jackson, and in 2019 Jim deservingly retired.
Loving survivors include Johanna Timberlake of Hampstead, NC; Ruth his wife of 43 years, their daughter, Elizabeth (Tony) Mott of Imperial, their son, Brian (Jennifer Schnurbusch) Timberlake of Burfordville, and three grandchildren, Dean Mott, Charlotte Mott, and Wyatt Timberlake.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The public viewing will be held from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, 10th of December 2020 and from 9:00 AM to service time on Friday, 11th of December 2020 at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, December 11, 2020, at the funeral home with the Rev. Jacob May officiating.
Interment will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson, with military honors.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Christ Lutheran Church in Gordonville or your charity of choice.
