James C. Roche’ passed away peacefully on September 21, 2025.
He was born December 7, 1950, in St. Louis, to J. Leon Roche’ and Verna Eddleman Smith. He was a 1969 graduate of Cape Central High School.
James enlisted in the U.S. Army in January 1972, serving three years along the East German and Czechoslovakia border. He re-enlisted in the Army Reserve, serving a further 19 ½ years. His proudest memory of his military service was teaching at West Point Military Academy.
He worked 24 years at Saint Francis Medical Center, and subsequently in security at P&G, and for the State of Missouri. Upon retirement, he became very active with the local Pachyderm Club, Cape County Republican Committee, and Altenthal Joerns American Legion Post 158 in Jackson.
Survivors include his wife, Pamala; children, James K. and Christianna; grandchildren Taven, Takoda, Troy, Aria, Missy, Loralai, and Everlee.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
James will be privately honored with an American Legion Honor Guard ceremony. His cremains will be placed at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
