Jane Basinger, 88, of Jackson, passed away February 14, 2018, at the home of her daughter in St. Louis, Missouri.
She was born June 22, 1929, in New Madrid County, Missouri, to James and Mayme Carson Underwood. She and James W. Basinger were married May 8, 1953, in Piggott, Arkansas. They had been married 25 years when James passed away October 8, 1978.
In 1963, the Basinger family moved from Little Rock, Arkansas to Jackson, where Jane was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She worked several years as a designer for Dalton Florist in Jackson.
To cherish her memory, Jane leaves a daughter, Renee Robinson; two grandchildren, Valera and Michael; nieces, nephews, and friends. She was loved and will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers, and five sisters.
Visitation is Monday, February 19, from 9:30 a.m. to service time, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.
The funeral is Monday, February 19, 2018, at 11:30 a.m., at the church, with the Rev. Eric Longman officiating.
The graveside committal is Monday, February 19, 2018, at approximately 2:45 p.m., at Portageville City Cemetery in Portageville, Missouri.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Concordia Guild of St. Paul Lutheran Church or St. Paul Lutheran School.
McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.
