Jerry Mudge

July 16, 1951 — September 29, 2015

Gerald “Jerry” Ray Mudge, 64, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Jerry was born July 16, 1951, in Ironton, Missouri, to Melvin and Dorothy Mudge. He graduated from Jackson High School in 1970.

He and Brenda Bollinger were married June 14, 2003.

Jerry was employed by Procter & Gamble for 23 years. After retiring, he worked odd jobs to fill his time, including working at West Park Lanes bowling alley in Cape Girardeau.

He was a member of the Elks in Perryville, Missouri.

Jerry loved fishing, hunting, playing golf, shooting black-powder guns and, most of all, riding on his lawnmower!

Jerry is survived by his wife, Brenda; a son, Derek Mudge; a daughter, Sunny Rae (Robert) Pontious; a stepdaughter, Brittnie Bollinger; grandchildren, Kaylea and Tess Adams and Xavier Jewell; his mother, Dorothy; and two brothers, Charles “Chuck” (Joan) Mudge and Neal (Susan) Mudge.

He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at Crossroads Church in Jackson.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to help defer funeral expenses. Checks may be made out to McCombs Funeral Home.
