Jessie Lee Clingingsmith, 75, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2020 at his home in Jackson. He was born September 11, 1944, in Oak Ridge, son of the late Elliott and Irene (Quade) Clingingsmith.
Upon graduating from Oak Ridge High School, he attended Southeast Missouri State University where he received a bachelor degree in education.
After serving in the United States Army, he began his career in education, and taught in East Prairie and at Fort Zumwalt, in St. Charles Missouri. Upon his retirement, he returned to live in Jackson. Jessie was an active participant in The Exchange Community Lutheran Church in Jackson.
Survivors include a sister, Mary Lou (Clingingsmith) Bess, four nieces and nephews, and three great-nieces and great-nephews.
Family and friends may gather for a graveside military service at 9 a.m. Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Cremation was accorded by McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
