Jim Reynolds

March 12, 1917 — June 27, 1999

James W. "Jim" Reynolds, 97, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2015, at the Jackson Manor Nursing Home. He resided many years on his farm south of Burfordville.

He was born March 12, 1917, south of Burfordville, to Alfred and Florence Jones Reynolds. He and Beula Cook were married April 25, 1943, at the former McGuire Church south of Burfordville. They had been married 56 years when she passed away June 27, 1999.

Jim was a lifelong crop and cattle farmer. He also owned and operated the former Reynolds Auction Service. He volunteered with the former Cape County Sherriff's Patrol, and during the early 1970's, he worked as a security guard at Procter and Gamble.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, a 50-year member of Excelsior Masonic Lodge both in Jackson, and enjoyed watching SEMO basketball and baseball.

Loving survivors include several nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Bill Green, Leonard and Leslie Essner.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call Wednesday, March 11, 2015, from 11 AM to service time, at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 1 PM, Wednesday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Kuehle officiating.

Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the donor's choice of church or charity.
