Joseph R. "Joe" Culver Sr. 63, of Jackson passed away Friday, January 19, 2018, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born September 16, 1954, in Marion, Indiana, to Louis Harrison and Lois Harriet Chockley Culver. He and Diana Hale were married January 1, 1975, at First Baptist Church in Jackson.
Joe was a graduate of Charleston High School. He was involved in boyscout leadership. Joe was a former member of the Jaycees and New McKendree Church in Jackson. Joe's employment included Lee Rowan-Rubbermaid, West Lake Quarry, several convenience stores in Jackson, Pizza Hut in Jackson, manager of the former Kentucky Fried Chicken in Jackson, and most recently Mobil Gas in Jackson.
Loving survivors include his wife Diana Culver of Jackson, two children Rebecca Culver Whitmer, husband Aaron, and daughters, Madison, Hayley, and Susannah of Patterson, Missouri, Joseph R. "Joey" Culver Jr. of Jackson; his mother, Lois Culver of Cape Girardeau; four siblings Mike (Tina) Culver of Cape Girardeau, Sharon (Walt) Adney of Bonne Terre, Missouri, Brian (Barbara) Culver of Perryville, Missouri, Susan (Bill) Harper of Sikeston, Missouri; and a half-sister, Connie L. Nurmi of Fort Worth, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation is Friday, January 26, 2018, from 10 a.m. to service time, at The Exchange Community, 5195 Old Cape Road East (South Outer Road), in Jackson.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., at the church, with the Rev. Ted Torreson officiating.
