John David Cook

John David Cook, age 53, of St. Louis passed Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Jefferson Barracks VA Medical Center in St. Louis.

He was born September 28, 1963 in Patuxent River, MD Naval Air Base, son of Odell R. "Dick" and Eula "Bernice" Younger Cook.

John was a 1981 graduate of Jackson High School. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1988 and was honorably discharged in 1992. He was employed in various civil service jobs. John moved to Portland, Maine where he attended college and received a degree as a Registered Nurse. He returned to St. Louis in 2006 and had been employed at John Cochran VA Hospital in St. Louis.

Loving survivors include his mother, Eula "Bernice" Bolin, and a brother, Mark Cook, both of Cape Girardeau; a stepsister, Lisa Reed of Seattle, Washington; a stepbrother, Roger Bolin of Norfolk, Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his father, two sisters, Dana and Deborah Sue Cook, and his step father, Russel Bolin.

The visitation will be from 12 pm until service time on Saturday, November 5th, 2016 at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home followed by military honors. Rev. Jimmie Corbin will officiate.

The family suggests that contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
