John Gooch, 83, of Whitewater passed away, Monday, October 25, 2021 at the Estates of Perryville. He was born August 26, 1938, in Ellsinore, Missouri, son of John Alvin and Florence Marie Boyer Gooch. He and Estella Tubbs were married May 18, 1959. She passed away March 28, 2011. John was raised in the Ellsinore area. He attended the Cape County Cowboy Church in Gravel Hill. John was an avid outdoorsman; he loved to fish, hunt and garden. He also enjoyed flying. Loving survivors include four sons, John A. Gooch, Ricky Dean Gooch, Mark (Anne) Gooch and Dale Wayne Gooch all of Whitewater; a daughter Patricia Diane (Kenneth Wallin) Spangler of Allenville; six grandchildren, Matthew (Elizabeth) Gooch, Kenneth Wallin, Kimberly (Eric Medley) Headrick, Sandy (Kyle King) Edwards, Nicole Wallin, Terena Spangler; 12 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Rose Musgrave - Quinn of Gordonville, Shirley Musgrave of Portagville, Missouri and Carolyn Lawrence of Paris, Texas. In addition to his wife Estella of 51 years, he was preceded in death by two daughters, a son, a grandson, five sisters and two brothers. Visitation will be Friday, October 29, 2021 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. Funeral service will be Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Cape County Cowboy Church at Gravel Hill with Rev. Jim Matthews officiating. Interment will follow in Whites Mill Cemetery in Ellsinore, Missouri. Memorials may take the form of contributions to church or charity of choice.
