John E Wilkinson

John Edward Wilkinson, age 68, of Cape Girardeau, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2025, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

John was born on July 19, 1957, in Pekin, Illinois, to Abraham and Martha Bishop Wilkinson III. He graduated from Pekin High School and later relocated to the Cape Girardeau area. Throughout his life, John worked for QC Corporation, DHL, and Procter & Gamble.

A dedicated fan of Chicago sports, he enjoyed cheering on the Cubs, Blackhawks, and Bears. John also found joy in grilling and took pride in growing his own tomatoes.

He is survived by his four children: Christy Williams and Brandi Wilkinson, both of Peoria, Illinois; Dite Adon of Massachusetts; and MacKenzie (Amber Sturgeon) Wilkinson of Cape Girardeau. John was a proud grandfather to Kobe Williams, Kylee Williams, Lucas Powell, and William Powell. He is also survived by three siblings, David (Bobbie) Wilkinson of West Chester, Pennsylvania, Judy (Randy) Durbin of Havana, Illinois and Joyce Bush of Pekin, Illinois; and his beloved feline companion, Roxy.

John was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, Derek Powell.
