Jory Len Smith, 67, of Jackson, passed away Monday, September 12, 2022, at his home.

He was born March 12, 1955, in Cape Girardeau to Joe Wilson and Betty Ann Grossheider Smith.

Jory attended Jackson High School and was a lifelong resident of Jackson.

Jory was a family man.  His owned and operated a mechanic shop and was a motorcycle enthusiast.  He loved anything to do with water, especially fishing.  He worked many years as a mechanic in Jackson.

Loving survivors include his wife, Jo Ann M. Smith of Jackson; children, Cory Woods of Perryville, Missouri and Samantha (Blane) Tidwell of Jackson; grandchildren, Josh Woods, Logan and Carson Tidwell; five siblings, Beth Smith (Bob) Armstrong of Kansas City, Chuck Wolters of Jackson, Charlotte Wolters of Washington, Missouri; Robin Meier McQuay of Jackson, Karen Meier (the late Ron) Huffman of Jackson, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Betty Grossheider Smith (H. Roy) Meier; and his father, Joe Wilson (Colleen Simpher Wolters) Smith.

A memorial visitation will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m., Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Fairview General Baptist Church at 5972 County Road 253, Advance, Missouri 63730.  Rev. Ronnie Mactee will conduct a memorial service at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, at the church.
