Joseph Andrew Adams

Joseph Andrew Adams, 57, of Perryville passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born August 26, 1961, in Cairo, Illinois, to Ernest and Marjorie Winn Adams. He married Elsa “Gerri” Harris on February 28, 1980, in Cape Girardeau.

Joe was a 1980 graduate of Egyptian High School. He and Gerri resided in Thebes, Illinois, Trumann, Arkansas, Jackson, Missouri and at Lake Perry in Perry County, Missouri since 2001. He had worked for Walmart.

Loving survivors include his wife Gerri of 39 years; four daughters, Tania Adams-Eftink of Chaffee; Jennifer Adams of Jackson, Jodie Adams and Mackenzie Adams of Perryville; eight grandchildren and one due very soon, Hannah, J.J., and Emma Eftink, Christian Adams and (soon to be, Baby Blair ), Makayla, Makiyah, Mason and C.J. Harris; his father, Ernest Adams; three siblings, Charles Kimmel of Cobden, Illinois, Linda Johnson of Olmsted, Illinois, and Karen Westbrooks of Cobden, Illinois; two half-sisters Janet and Judy.

A special thank you goes to his nephew, Matthew Burton, for providing spiritual support.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie Adams; a brother, Wesley Kimmel; and a sister, Lisa Adams.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2019 at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
