Joseph M. Bullard

Joseph M. Bullard, 74, of Jackson, Missouri passed away Saturday, May 25, 2024.

He was born on March 26, 1950, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, to Troy Martin and Anna Mae Medlock Bullard. He was raised in Jackson and the Neely's Landing area where he attended New Bethel Baptist Church. He was later a member of the First Baptist Churches in Jackson and Cape Girardeau.

Joe was a 1968 graduate of Jackson High School. He had a passion for fast cars and was a die-hard St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Joe worked for 58 years as a manager in local grocery stores including Pioneer Market, Denny's IGA, Schaper's IGA, and most recently Save-a-Lot in Cape Girardeau. He was also a part owner of LMB produce in Jackson. Wherever he worked, he was always well-loved and highly respected by employers, employees, and customers alike.

Joe was also a long-standing member of the Elks Lodge #2652 in Jackson, Missouri. He was a cherished friend to many and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by many who loved him, including, his three children, Chris (Susan), Corey (Ellen), and Abby (Jimmy); grandchildren, Dakota, Nixon, Asher, Amos, and Kai, and brother Kenneth "Kenny" Bullard.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Mary Lucille Bullard and Peggy Ann Pulliam.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. to service time, Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. The Rev. Mike Parry will conduct the funeral service at 12 p.m., Wednesday, May 29, at the funeral home. Private interment will follow. Serving as pallbearers are Joe's sons, Chris and Corey, Mark and Blake Guilliams, Dave Inman, and Chad Craft. Honorary pallbearers are Dwight Craft, Gary Whiteside, Don Biri, Phil Craft, and Robert Sewing.

If considering a memorial contribution, the family suggests New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, Fruitland Community Church, or Crossroads Fellowship Church.
