Judith Jewell (Dickerson) Jaco, 95 of Jackson passed away Monday, November 7, 2022, at Southeast Hospital.

She was born June 23, 1927, in Jackson, daughter of Clarence Alvin and Willie L. “Della" Reynolds Dickerson.  She was a 1945 graduate of Jackson High School.

Judy and Cletus J. Jaco were married October 26, 1946 and were together for 40 years until he passed away March 14, 1987.

Judy's focus in life was her family and she actively raised that family within the First Baptist Church of Jackson. She was very active in volunteer work for the Jackson Schools and Girl Scouts. Judy was honored as the recipient of the Missouri Honorary Life Membership from the R-2 PTA and the "Thanks Award" from the Girl Scouts for her volunteer work with that organization. The Girl Scouts also recognized her with the 2008 Women's Impact Award. She was a huge fan of the Jackson football and soccer programs and made a terrific honey cookie every Christmas.

Loving survivors include four children; JoAnn (Jules) Plucker of Lancaster, PA, and Connie Jaco, Sally Jaco, and Tony (Alicia) Jaco all of Jackson; four grandchildren, Jay (Rachel) Plucker of Wiesbaden, Germany, Jeff (Susan) Plucker of Lancaster, PA, Tyler Trierweiler of Jackson and Matthew Jaco of Jackson; seven great-grandchildren, Laurel, Jude, and Sage Plucker of Wiesbaden, Germany, Jacob and Alex Plucker of Lancaster, PA, and Jodah and Lauren Trierweiler of Jackson; her sister-in-law, June Jaco and many nephews and nieces.

Besides her husband, Cletus, Judy was preceded in death by her infant son, Cletus Jeffery Jaco; her parents; her sister, Jerry Wright, and her brother, Clarence Dickerson, Jr. and beloved brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Visitation is Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. A private family graveside service will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Jackson Ministerial Alliance or the Jackson Tribal Council.
