Kathryn J. “Janice” Miller

Kathryn J. "Janice" Miller, 94, formerly of Jackson, passed away Friday, September 15, 2017, at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield, Missouri.

She was born November 4, 1922, in Millersville, Missouri, to Ernest and Florence Wylie Hartle. She first married Raymond Sievers. Two children were born to their union, Sharon and Michael. In 1969, she and George "Bud" Miller were married in Cape Girardeau. They resided many years in Houston, Texas, moving back to Crestwood, Missouri shortly before George's death. They had been married 31 years when he passed away in 2000.

Janice was a graduate of Oak Ridge High School. She was a homemaker and enjoyed close relationships with each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Loving survivors include two children, Sharon (John) Godwin of Des Peres, Missouri, Michael R. (Anita L.) Sievers of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri; five grandchildren, Michael Godwin, Lisa (Brian) Robinson, Dr. Scott (Meghan) Godwin, Craig Sievers, and Kevin (Nicole) Sievers; six great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Alyssa Robinson, Nora and John Godwin, Kieran and Alana Sievers; a sister, Marjorie Risha of Cape Girardeau; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two brothers, Harold and R. B. Hartle.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Louis Crisis Nursery, 11710 Administration Drive # 18, St. Louis, Mo 63146 or Donors Church or Charity of Choice.

The Rev. Sam Roethemeyer will officiate a private graveside service at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson, where Janice will be laid to rest next to her husband, George.
