Kathryn Kaufmann

Kathryn Kaufmann, 85, of Jackson passed away Sat. April 22, 2017 at Jackson Manor in Jackson.

She was born April 16, 1932 in Cape County the Daughter of Arthur Otto and Ida Sedekum Keller, she and Paul C. Kaufmann were married Feb. 18, 1956 in Cape he passed away Mar. 5, 1989.

Katie, as she was known, was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church on May 1, 1932 and celebrated her Confirmation in March of 1945, she worked for 27 years at Southeast Missouri Hospital leaving after her eyesight began to fail. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan listening to the games on the radio she loved camping on the Castor River and playing cards for hours on end. She loved to sing and always had a song on her heart. Along with being an excellent cook her jelly rolls were phenomenal, one of her fondest hobbies was talking on the phone.

Loving survivors include her son Charles and wife Kristin Kaufmann of Jackson, three sisters Lois Collins, Ruth Dillingham and Bernice Smith all of Cape.

Also surviving are six grandchildren Todd, Erika and Paul Kaufmann, Elizabeth, Brock and Mary Kate Nanney and three Great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers Ralph and Norman Keller, an infant sister Tessa Louisa and a granddaughter Amber Kaufmann.

Friends may call Thurs. April 27, 2017 from 10:00 am to service time at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral service will be Thurs. April 27, 2017 at 12:00 noon at the Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Kobak officiating.

Interment will follow in St. James United Church of Christ Cemetery in Tilsit, MO.

Memorials may be made to River City Workers for the Blind or St. James United Church of Christ.
