Kenneth Strack

November 23, 1927 — February 2, 2017

Kenneth Strack, 89, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, Feb. 02, 2017 at the Lutheran Home.

He was born Nov. 23, 1927, in Cape Girardeau County, son of Edwin and Thelma Cottle Strack. He was baptized at Hanover Lutheran Church. He and Stella Mae Meyer were married April 12, 1953 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.

Kenny Graduated from Jackson High School in 1944. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1950-52 when he was honorably discharged. After his service he began building houses and went on to become Co-Owner/Operator of Strack Brothers Construction Company later becoming Owner of Kenneth Strack Construction. He was also Co-Owner of SLR Development. He enjoyed playing cards, checkers, puzzles, mens bowling league and baseball with the Church league. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson where he was an usher, trustee, elder, and served on the Finance Committee, before becoming a member of Hanover Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.

Kenny is lovingly survived by his wife Stella of 63 years, four daughters; Carol Lehmann (Peter) of Marble Hill, Pat Gohn (Greg) of Jackson, Kathy Carlton of Jackson and Teresa Brenner (Craig) of Omaha Nebraska; ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Betty Strack of Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Bob and Vernon "Bud" Strack; and a sister-in-law, Jackie Strack.

Friends may call Sunday, Feb. 05, 2017 from 12 noon to service time at Hanover Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will be Sunday, Feb. 05, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Church with the Rev. Tony Kobak officiating.

Interment will follow in Hanover Cemetry with full military honors.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Hanover Old Church Fund or to Hanover Lutheran Church.
