Kim Kefauver

Kim A. Kefauver, 68, of Jackson, passed away Monday, March 22, 2021, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born April 17, 1952, in Evansville, Indiana, to Walter and Hilda Ladreiter Kefauver.

Kim was a 1970 graduate of Jackson High School.

He worked many years as a self-employed contractor and six years for the City of Jackson, at the power plant, retiring in 2005.

Kim was a longtime, faithful member of First General Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.  He enjoyed sharing his faith in the Lord through simple acts of kindness and friendship.  Kim lived by Biblical principles and was well-known for this motto: “Forgive and forget.  The past is gone.”

Loving survivors include a son, Travis Kefauver of Solvang, California; three siblings. Neil (Helen) Kefauver of Cape Girardeau, Lois (the late Danny) Conklin of Cape Girardeau, Audrey Priest of Jackson; a brother-in-law, Dick Nieten of Evansville; stepchildren and step-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.  Kim will also be missed by the staff and residents at the Lutheran Home. His interactions with the other residents was a joy to all.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Barbara Nieten; and two brothers, Wayne and Bruce Kefauver.

The family would like to thank both the Lutheran Home and St. Francis Hospice for Kim’s treatment and care.

Visitation is from 1 p.m. to service time, Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Keith Luke officiating.

In lieu of flowers, Kim would appreciate memorial contributions to the First General Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.
