Lane Peerman Mcclard

Lane Peerman McClard, 88, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born October 6, 1936, in Jackson, son of George Dayton McClard and Edna Williams.

Lane graduated from Jackson High School in 1954 and honorably served in the Missouri National Guard from 1955 to 1958. At the age of 14 he went to work at Jones Drug store and worked there for over 30 years. He later drove for Cape County Transit. Lane attended New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson. He was a former member of the Cape Elks and a current member of the Jackson Elks. Lane enjoyed fishing and collecting guns.

Loving survivors include his three children, Terri (Ron) McKiddy of Jackson, Rick McClard of Jackson and Taylor (Jacob) Ribbing of Anna Jonesboro, Illinois; a step-daughter, Tara Newell-Koehler; granddaughter, Bethanney Thele; great-grandchildren, Braydon, Terra and Dillon; step-grandchildren, Tristan (Alissa) Newell and Austin (Kaylee) Newell; step-great-grandchildren, Pressley, Braxton, Tess, Braylynn and Phoenix; two sisters-in-law, Joyce (the late Wayne) and Marion (the late Neil) McClard; a niece, Lisa McClard Bertrand; and two nephews, Brett McClard and Jeff McClard.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Wayne and Neil McClard.

The visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, with an Elk Service at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 10 a.m. until service time at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The Rev. Sam Roethemeyer will conduct the funeral service at 11 a.m., on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Russell Heights in Jackson.

The family suggests that contributions be made to Jackson Elks or SEMO Pets.
