Laura Drake

After a long battle with cancer, Laura Anne Drake, 53, of Jackson, has been received into the arms of her heavenly father. Laura passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born April 10, 1963, in Long Beach, California, to Fred and Barbara Drake.

Laura was raised in Long Beach, where she graduated from Millikan High School. She was a 1995 graduate of Lawson Technical College.

The past 15 years, Laura was employed with United Health Care as a user acceptance testing manager. In 2006, she and her daughter, Bailey moved from St. Charles, Missouri, to Jackson. Since 2008, Laura had been an active member of Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.

Loving survivors include her daughter, Bailey Drake of Jackson; a brother, Steven (Claudia) Drake of Germany; a nephew, Daniel Drake of Ohio; a niece, Melissa (Ben) McCall of Germany; and a lifelong friend, Kristina (Tim) Caldwell of Cape Girardeau.

Cremation accorded by McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. A private family ceremony will be held at a later date.
