Laurel Ackman

Laurel L. Ackman, 100 of Herculaneum, Missouri and formerly of Jackson passed away at her daughter's home in Herculaneum. She was born December 25, 1922 in Grand Junction Colorado, the daughter of John Edward and Permilia "Pearl" Draper Hickman. Laurel married Arnis Pearl "A.P.' Ackman October 20, 1942. He preceded her in death July 27, 1987. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Laurel was a former member of New Bethel Baptist Church near Pocahontas. Loving survivors include four children, Tim Ackman of Jackson, Matt Ackman of Festus, Missouri, Steve Ackman of Bloomsdale, Missouri, and Becky (Brian) Watson of Herculaneum, Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Ackman of Hematite, Missouri; Nine grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband of 44 years,she was preceded in death by a son, Leonard Ackman; and a daughter-in-law, Diana (Tim) Ackman. Visitation will be from 10 am until service time, Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 with Rev. Johnny Clements officiating. Interment will be follow in New Bethel Baptist Cemetery near Pocahontas. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
