Leonard D. Langston

December 28, 1933 — February 15, 2016

Leonard D. Langston, 82 of Millersville, passed away Monday, February 15, 2016 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born December 28, 1933 in Whitewater, son of Harry H. and Bertha E. McHenry Langston. He and Audrey Roe were married December 23, 1953. She passed away April 25, 1993. He and Betty Roe Hobeck were married January 29, 1995.

Leonard was a 1951 graduate of Delta High School. He began working in the printing industry at Jiffy Printers in Chester, Illinois. In 1963 he went to work for the former Craftsman Printing Company in Cape Girardeau, which was later purchased by the former Bulletin Journal and in 1986 became the Southeast Missourian. He retired from the Southeast Missourian after a 34 year printing career with the company.

Leonard taught Sunday school in the young adults division and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Millersville for many years. He was a member of the Oak Ridge Eastern Star and a 60 year member of the Westview Masonic Lodge in Millersville.

Loving survivors include his wife of 21 years, Betty; a son, Terry (Betty) Langston of Jackson; three grandchildren, Nicki (Jeff) Turner of Cape Girardeau, Stacy (Heidi) Langston of Jackson, and Kent (Kyla) Langston of Leopold, Missouri; a step granddaughter, Kim (Mark) Andracsek of Manchester, Missouri; two step-sons, Timothy (Gail) Hobeck of Rockwood, Illinois and Kevin (Rita) Hobeck of Sussex, Wisconsin; two step-daughters, Pamela Hobeck and Debbie (David) Hoffman of Chester, Illinois; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; 11 step-grandchildren; and 18 step great-grandchildren.

In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, Gary and Larry Langston, two brothers, Bobby and Clarence Langston, a daughter-in-law, Toni Kay Langston, and a step granddaughter, Heather Bond

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, with a Masonic Service at 7 p.m.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at the funeral home with the Rev. Don Estes officiating.

Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
