Leslie J. Hampton

Leslie J. Hampton, 75, of Chaffee passed away Monday, December 16, 2019 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born September 23, 1944, in Cape Girardeau, son of Leslie C. and Dorothy M. Todisman Hampton.  He and Michelle E. Baumann were married March 8, 1975 in Broward County, Florida.

Leslie served in the United States Air Force Reserve and was honorably discharged August 13, 1968.  He worked as a custodian / bus driver at Chaffee R-2 School District before becoming disabled in 1993.  He was a former bridge construction worker for the Railroad.

In addition to his loving his wife of 44 years, Michelle Hampton of Chaffee, survivors include four children, Tia (Dennis) Gore of East Prairie, Jacob (Jennifer) Hampton and Joshua Hampton, both of Chaffee, and Jason Hampton of St. Charles, Missouri; eight grandchildren; one brother; and  two sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

A private family gathering may be held at a later date.
