Lester C. Jones

Lester Clyde Jones, 76 of Gordonville, formerly of Houston, Texas, passed away Monday, April 18, 2016 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born February 6, 1940, in Seventy-six, Missouri, son of Arnold and Eva Logsdon Jones. He married Patricia Whitener who passed away August 2, 2013.

Lester attended Oak Ridge High School and enlisted in the United State Air Force. He moved to Houston, Texas, where he owned and operated LP Construction Co. Lester loved to do custom woodworking and go mushroom hunting. He was loved and admired by all who came to know him.

Loving survivors include three sisters, Reta Lundstrom and Marcella Bryam of Perryville, Missouri, and Yvonne Carrigan of Chipley, Florida; a brother, Bob Jones of Magnolia, Texas; and many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold Jones and Eva Rhyne, four brothers, Cecil and Leroy Jones and Harley and Orville Rhyne.

Friends may call 1 p.m. until service time on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. The memorial service will be at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with the Pastor Dennis Cebulak officiating. Inurnment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery in
