Linda Kay Watkins, 77, of Jackson passed away Monday, March 31, 2025, at the Jackson Manor. She was born September 13, 1947, in St. Louis, daughter of Riley and Lois Noll Morris. She and Vernon Watkins Jr. were married in 1967. He passed away on March 2, 2019. Linda was a licensed cosmetologist. She worked as a baker and retired from the Missouri Veterans Home. Linda loved spending time with family, especially playing games with her grandchildren. She found great joy shopping for gifts for all her loved ones. The Salvation Army was a part of her life from early childhood. She attended church and camp at the Salvation army. Loving survivors include her son, David Brice (Jill) Watkins of Jackson; two daughters, Dawn Verdel (Charles) Fredman of St. Louis and Cathryn Renee Watkins of Swansea, Illinois; grandchildren, Charles Ryan Watkins, Ethan Ray (Dana) McDowell, Evan Lane (Cesia) Watkins, Nathaniel Timothy (Anna) Prince, Nathan Eric Epps, Jared Vincent Epps, Sophia Cathryn Epps, Cole Watkins Criddle and Jacob Andrew (Mariah) Criddle; great-grandchildren, Xavier Watkins, Alexis Watkins, Bella Watkins, Judah Watkins, Micah Watkins, Ezrah Watkins, Maren McDowell and Vivian Prince; and a sister, Marie Lamkey. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Ronnie, John and Ricky Morris. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 7, 2025, at Russell Heights. McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests that contributions be made to the Salvation Army.
