Loren W. "Pete" Goodman, 71, of Jackson, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at his home.
He was born January 7, 1952, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Paul O. and Claudia A. Goodwin Goodman.
Pete's family moved to Kinston, North Carolina, where he eventually met the love of his life, Marta Dailey. They married July 27, 1973, in Greenville, North Carolina. They had been married 38 years when Marta passed away September 14, 2011.
Pete and Marta first lived in Rocky Mount, NC, followed by Forest City, North Carolina, then Cookeville, Tennessee, and finally settled in Jackson, Missouri, in 2002.
Pete was employed many years as the plant manager of the Brown Shoe Company Distribution Center in Sikeston, Missouri. He was an avid fisherman and especially enjoyed bass fishing. He also was a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and North Carolina Tar Heels.
His greatest joy was being a great family man, who was a dedicated and caring husband, father, and "PopPop" to his grandchildren. Pete had a gift for meeting others and making them feel at ease, like they may have known each other forever.
