Loretta Fay Brown, 78, of Jackson, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville, Missouri.
She was born November 19, 1943, in Morley, Missouri, to Harry Wilburn and Mazie “Marie” Moore Ervin. She and Paul Brown were married February 10, 1962, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pocahontas, Missouri.
Loretta was a 1961 graduate of Cape Central High School. She loved to sew and worked many years for Don’s Upholstery, Guys Big and Tall, and Garbers. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilsit and was actively involved in leadership roles in both the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. For the study of Lyme Disease, she collected and studied ticks.
Loretta had a Christian attitude and she allowed it to shine through with her loving spirit and giving heart.
Loving survivors include her husband, Paul Brown of Jackson; two daughters, Susan Fay (Mike) Sachse and Pamela Kay Brown, both of Jackson; four grandchildren, Steven Sachse, Jessica (Brian) Dearing and son Eddie, Dustin Pfeiffer (Amber Schreiner), Amanda (Charles) Heathman and children Caitlyn and Gary; and six siblings, Lorene Burford of Scott City, Missouri, Louie Ervin of Iowa, John Ervin of Advance, Missouri, James Ervin, Loyd Ervin, and Joe Ervin, all of Cape Girardeau.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and a brother.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. to service time, Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. Rev. Mark Boettcher will conduct the funeral service at 12 p.m., at the funeral home. Loretta’s funeral is being held two days before the 60th anniversary of she and Paul’s marriage.
Burial will be private at a later date.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilsit or the Alzheimer’s Association.
