Louis Crites

Louis F. Crites, 80, formerly of Whitewater, Missouri, passed away Friday, December 9, 2022, at Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born January 2, 1942, in Cape Girardeau, to Arnold F. and Loretta Rhodes Crites. Louis was a 1959 graduate of Delta High School. He worked in retail sales in the men's department of J.C. Penney and Zales Jewelry Store, both in St. Louis. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading. Loving survivors include children, Julie (Dave) Dyer of Whitewater, and Alyssa Oaks of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Jacob (Lauren) Dyer, Michaela Dyer, and Daniel Dyer; great-granddaughters, Melia and Makenna Dyer; and sisters, Marilyn Crites of Whitewater and Sheriann (Tony) Hughey of Sullivan, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation is from 12 to 1:30 p.m., Friday, December 16, 2022, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. The Rev. Mike Dugan will conduct the funeral service at 1:30 p.m., Friday, December 16, 2022, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson. Memorials may take the form of contributions to the donor's choice of church or charity.
