Lucille Friese

Lucille Friese, 83, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017, at her home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born June 30, 1933, in Marble Hill, Missouri, to Charles E. and Fern M. James Crader. She was a graduate of the former Lutesville High School near Marble Hill. On May 22, 1960, she married Howard D. Friese, at Sedgewickville Lutheran Church in Sedgewickville, Missouri. They had been married 51 years when Howard passed away October 18, 2011.

The Friese family resided many years in Jefferson City, Missouri. Lucille was a secretary, working 25 years for the Missouri Division of Social Services. She was a longtime active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Jefferson City.

She and Howard moved to Cape Girardeau in 2006. Lucille was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church and a former member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, both in Cape Girardeau. She enjoyed quilting and sewing with the ladies at church, and is well remembered for sharing home-baked treats with many appreciative friends.

Loving survivors include her son, James Friese of Cape Girardeau; a sister-in-law, Klodean (the late Charles) Crader of Marble Hill; three nieces, Sheree, Cathy, and Connie; a nephew, Mark; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two siblings, Charles Crader and Dorothy Mayfield; and her parents.

Visitation will be Monday, May 1, 2017, from 11 AM to service time, at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral is Monday, May 1, 2017, at 12 PM, at the church, with the Rev. Mark Martin officiating.

Due to excessive rain, burial will be held at a later date.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
