Lynn Morton

Lynn Morton, age 73, passed away on Thursday, October 15,2026 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.

On September 05,1953 in Cape Girardeau, MO he was born to the late Jack and Doris Jones Morton.

Lynn married the love of his life Robyn Slinkard on May 12, 1973, at Maple United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau, MO.

Before he retired, Lynn had been a sheet metal worker for Local # 36, and later retired from the City of Cape Parks & Recreation Department.

Survivors include his two sons: Christopher (Skyler) Morton of Scott City, MO and Adam (Ruby) Morton of Jackson, MO; his daughter Heather (Matthew) Seabaugh of Jackson, MO; one brother, Blaine (Jamie) Morton of Columbia, Mo; his grandchildren: Hannah, Nick and Kade Campbell of Jackson, MO; Laura, Zane, Nathyn, Jaselynn and Olivia Morton of Scott City, MO; Abigail and Marvin Morton of Jackson; Marley, Lynlea, and Mason Seabaugh of Jackson, MO; and his best friend that was like a brother to him, Ted Guffey.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jack & Doris, mother, and father-in-law: Marvin & Mariam Slinkard; one son in law, Joshua Campbell.

There will be a celebration of Lynn’s life held at Maple United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau, MO on Thursday, October 22, 2026 with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. until the hour of celebration at 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to assist covering the funeral expenses and to the American Heart and Cancer Associations of Southeast Missouri.

McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center is assisting with arrangements.
